Description
A Red telephone box pictured opposite an entrance to Windsor Castle.
The red telephone box, a telephone kiosk for a public telephone designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, is a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom. Despite a reduction in their numbers in recent years, the traditional British red telephone box can still be seen in many places throughout the UK. The colour red was chosen to make them easy to spot.
Windsor Castle, parts of which date back to the 11th century, is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire. The castle is notable for its long association with the British royal family and for its architecture.
